Burren Farm Walk, Caherconnell

October 26, 2024

Start: 10:15 am

Finish: 12:15 pm

Caherconnell, Co.Clare

(Exact location emailed to ticket holders closer to time. )

Hosted by Burren farmer Michael Davoren, and Burren Acres team member Tim O'Connell, this walk on farming, conservation and heritage will bring you on a tour of a beautiful Burren farm.

Michael is a sixth generation Burren Farmer who was instrumental in aiding the farming for conservation project to start up in the Burren.  A champion of traditional farming practices, Michael feels strongly about the role of farmers in protection of one the most special landscapes in Europe.

Michael will lead a walk on his farm near Caherconnell which encompasses beautiful winterage pastures and important archaeological monuments including the ancient burial site where the bones of a prehistoric woman and two infants were discovered in 2013.

The walk would be along an uphill but easy path. We recommend appropriate all-weather clothing and footwear. Please ensure you read the walk risk assessment before attending. You will be asked to indicate that you have read this when signing in on the day. The walk risk assessment can be viewed here.

Numbers are limited and pre-booking is essential.
