SATURDAY Grieving the loss of Ash in the Burren: and together exploring how to respond

Join us for an experimental event to witness the loss of ash trees in the land, involving conversation, performance and ceremony, gathering together scientists, artists, farmers and the public.

This event will be facilitated by Tara Baoth Mooney and Kate Fletcher in collaboration with Burrenbeo Trust.

Tara Boath Mooney is a musician and artist whose practice explores multispecies relationships, with a particular focus on the rich historical, ecological and folkloric importance of the Hawthorn Tree within the Irish tradition and ecosystem.

Kate Fletcher is a Professor in the School of Art & Design at Manchester Metropolitan University, UK. Her latest work is about land relations, nature and design.

Other contributors include: ecological grief practitioner Youngsook Choi, Jeremy Turkington of Hometree, a member of Michael Cusack centre and local land custodians.

Please note that part of this event will take place outdoors. Appropriate footwear and clothing are essential.
